Piano Intensive Program
The Piano Intensive Program (PIP) is the premier course offering at Erica Phung's Piano Studio designed for students who are looking for close 1:1 mentorship and are on track to pursue music at the collegiate or professional level. The program aims to produce well-rounded musicians with specific emphases in the areas of piano performance, theory, ear training, and music history. To ensure quality mentorship and individual attention, the program is highly selective and has a maximum enrollment of two students at any given time. All students who are admitted to and enroll in PIP will receive a scholarship to celebrate their distinguished achievement and help offset the cost of attendance.
Meet the Teacher:
Erica Phung
Ms. Phung is currently accepting new students.
Erica Phung is a multi-faceted musical artist and pedagogue, with a diverse background in classical piano, orchestral conducting, and music theory. Her musical views are strongly influenced by her heritage in the Russian/Eastern European School of Pianism and deep fascination with the psychological and cognitive aspects of music. Her musical interpretations are formed through a delicate balance between elements of the brain: of analysis and emotion; logic and intuition; order and spontaneity. Ms. Phung is passionate about inspiring the next generation of musicians and providing a solid foundation upon which students can build a fulfilling, life-long journey in music.
Ms. Phung received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Conducting (Chapman University), Master of Music in Piano Performance (Longy School of Music), and Graduate Performance Diploma in Piano Performance (Longy School of Music), studying with Dr. Grace Fong, Andrius Žlabys, and Daniel Wachs. Other notable teachers and mentors include Dr. Irina Prilipko-Morgan and Sarah Ioannides. She is a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT), and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
