The Piano Intensive Program (PIP) is the premier course offering at Erica Phung's Piano Studio designed for students ​who are looking for close 1:1 mentorship and are on track to pursue music at the collegiate or professional level. The program aims to produce well-rounded musicians with specific emphases in the areas of piano performance, theory, ear training, and music history. To ensure quality mentorship and individual attention, the program is highly selective and has a maximum enrollment of two students at any given time.  All students who are admitted to and enroll in PIP will receive a scholarship to celebrate their distinguished achievement and help offset the cost of attendance.

All students ​ enrolled in PIP are expected to:​

• Commit to taking tri-weekly 60-minute lessons for a full calendar year (fall, spring, and summer semester).

• Exhibit dedication, fortitude, and passion to their artistry and learning.

• Participate in the fall and spring semester-end jury exams, which will assess student progress in performance, sight reading, theory, ear training, and music history.

• Participate in recitals, competitions, masterclasses, festivals, and non-studio examinations as determined by the teacher.

• Represent the studio at all times through respectful and ethical behavior and uphold our standards of musical excellence.

• Have daily access to a well-maintained acoustic piano for practicing.

Additional Information:

• All curriculum books and materials are included in the tuition fee.

• Recording sessions for pre-screenings, competitions, etc. will be provided in the studio at no additional cost and teacher's sole discretion.

• ​Recommendation letters will be provided for colleges, competitions, summer festivals, etc. at teacher’s sole discretion.

• For any questions or additional help, we hold weekly office hours students may attend in-person or online. Additionally, students may email/text practice videos or questions for teacher feedback throughout the week. 

• Exceptions to the studio attendance policy will be granted for absences due to travel or participation in recitals, competitions, festivals, and non-studio examinations as determined by the teacher.
