Our Music Theory & Ear Training Curriculum
At Erica Phung's Piano Studio, our music theory and ear training curriculum offers serious music students a deeper dive into these subjects than is covered in the piano lessons. Music theory and ear training lessons are especially recommended for students on the trajectory to study music at the collegiate level. Our standard curriculum includes Julie McIntosh Johnson's Basics of Keyboard Theory and Ear Training Basics textbooks, with supplemental materials for form & harmonic analysis, 20th and 21st century compositional and atonal techniques, counterpoint, and solfège. Additionally, we provide tutoring for high school students enrolled in AP Music Theory classes.
